One penny more! This has been the simple demand of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), an organization which for almost 20 years has been fighting for dignity and justice for migrant farmworkers in the tomato fields of South Florida.
Approximately 2,000 people gathered in Montpelier, Vermont on May 1st for the Put People and the Planet First march and rally. The event took place alongside parallel gatherings held throughout the world to mark International Workers' Day. Here are some photos from the day's events.
