The world’s five largest arms exporters in 2014–18 were the United States, Russia, France, Germany and China. Together, they accounted for a hefty 75 percent of the total volume of arms exports during that period.
While many positive changes, vis-à-vis women, have taken taken place, including universal primary education, rising legal literacy, and reservations for women at the level of local government, women in India continue to face serious challenges, including those determined by their caste and religious backgrounds.
