Cost factor may prove the most potent ingredient yet in the long-awaited change to medical marijuana policy. Although President Obama has publicly affirmed he is 'not in favor' of the legalization of pot, the President's position on medical use is unambiguous: "Federal resources should not be used to circumvent state [marijuana] laws."
Until a few decades ago noise was seen as no more than a nuisance of modern urban life. Then research began to show that loud, but not uncommon, noise could damage hearing. Human rights groups released a report on June 23rd accusing the Bush Administration of blocking "potentially lifesaving" aid to Haiti in order to meddle in the impoverished nation's political affairs.
